Zila Ghaziabad is a Hindi Political and Social drama film directed by Abhishek Sharma, which stars Bhumi Pednekar, Manav Kaul and Vijay Maurya. The movie released on 31 March 2017. Zila Ghaziabad is a Hindi Movie that revolves around the life of Ayush Gupta (Manav Kaul), an ambitious young politician who has just won the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections from Amroha which promises to bring him fame and fortune overnight. The rest of the film shows him falling prey to the system and self-destructing in the process.The movie is based on true events. It is inspired by real-life stories of five politicians including Ayushman Bharat co-founder Anand Kumar and his wife Anuradha, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and others. The film, set in Uttar Pradesh, aims to capture the "brutal reality of Indian Politics". The story revolves around an ambitious young politician who wants to make it big in politics and struggles to balance his personal life with his public life. Director Abhishek Sharma said : "It's a very pertinent issue that what's happening all over India. A lot of people are aspiring to enter politics, be it from a local body or a national party. You go there and ask them 'why did you want to join politics in the first place?' The answer is always - 'I want to serve my country'. They're very idealistic when they walk in. But when they come out, they're completely damaged. It's a very brutal system." Zila Ghaziabad is Bollywood Debut of Bhumi Pednekar who will be seen playing the role of Sanjeev Gupta wife Aarti Gupta an aspiring politician and also Amit Bhatt who will play Anurag Singh Rana a mafia don. Manav Kaul will play Ayushman Bharat co-founder Anand Kumar. Vijay Maurya who will be playing the role of BJP leader Pradhan Singh Chauhan. The film's trailer was released on 1 March 2017, followed by a song promo on 12 March 2017. The first promotional poster was unveiled on 24 February 2017 which showed Manav Kaul peeping out from the side of the poster with lettering featuring an excerpt from Hitler's Mein Kampf. The poster received backlash for its design and symbols, with many criticising it as too literal and provocative for political commentary. The poster was taken down, and a new one was released with different lettering. Zila Ghaziabad had a poor start with about 10% occupancy in morning shows, but picked up post noon. The film declared "average" at the box office. However The official YouTube page of Zila Ghaziabad received 1 Million views within 48 hours of its release on 30 March 2017.
